What I do in Parliament

PeaceTower

As the Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre, I am proud to represent my constituents. When I am away from Kitchener, you will find me in the nation’s capital serving you in the House of Commons. I vote on Bills to help pass government legislation and participate in Question Period.

My government work also includes serving as a member of two parliamentary committees, the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development (FAAE) and the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy, and Ethics (ETHI). These committees produce in-depth reports to the House of Commons on matters of legislation, departmental activities and spending, and other related matters.

I am also a member of seven parliamentary associations or interparliamentary groups, which form relationships with other governmental groups around the world. They consist of Canadian MPs and Senators who promote the country’s interests abroad and strengthen multilateral and bilateral partnerships.

As the representative of Kitchener Centre, I am proud to serve as an Executive Member of the Canada-Germany Interparliamentary Group.
