Canada’s Volunteer Awards

It starts with a simple thank you. Nominate a volunteer today

In 2013 alone, 47% of Canadians devoted almost two billion volunteer hours to charities and non-profit organizations—the equivalent of almost 1.1 million full-time jobs.

Whether Canadians volunteer out of a desire to contribute to their communities, to use their skills and experience, or because they have been personally affected by a cause, their impact is profound.

Recognizing the efforts of those who give their time generously and in turn, inspire others, is why the Canada’s Volunteer Awards are so important. The fact is engaged Canadians build strong and connected communities!

Canada’s Volunteer Awards recognize the significant contributions of individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations from across the country. It doesn’t end there! Recipients will also have a chance to give back; regional Award recipients are eligible to identify a not-for-profit organization to receive a $5,000 grant. The national Award recipient is eligible to identify a not-for-profit organization to receive a $10,000 grant.

If you know a volunteer, a young person, a business or a not-for-profit organization that is making a difference in your community, show your appreciation by nominating them for Canada’s Volunteer Awards today.

For more information and to submit a nomination, visit Canada.ca/volunteer-awards. The call for nominations is open until June 15, 2018.

It’s about creating enabling conditions for social good, connecting communities and learning from each other. Ultimately, it’s about making Canada better.
