Many cultural events made it a busy weekend in Kitchener Centre, catch up here!
June 12, 2017 — Kitchener, ON — I had such a great weekend in Kitchener – from the weather to the amazing events – it was one for the books! On Saturday it was #NeighboursDay2017, and to celebrate I started my day at the Canadian Arab Women’s Association‘s Iftar Breakfast where I was so happy to meet many new Canadians! After that, I attended the 7th Romanian-Canadian Day! I had lots of great food and learned so much about our Romanian community members and their culture – it was such an honour!
In the afternoon, I went to the Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association‘s Public Art Celebration to see the new beautiful art installations! Both Tessellation Gardens and The Park Street Mural add even more depth and beauty to our community! I ended my day at the Greek Festival – needless to say the food and entertainment was fantastic! Opa!
On Sunday it was an honour to attend the Kitchener-Waterloo 2017 Walk With Israel – a walk that raises funds for Youth Futures, a program in Kiryat Shmona that mentors Israeli children who need direction in life.
I am back in Ottawa today, working for all of you – which is and always will be, such a privilege!
